, FSM is already in the mail
Where did you order your FSM, and what did it cost for the hard copy? Need one for my 97 LX450...I know you can get the downloads for free but the books treat me better....

I've been looking but most that I have found are about that or above.... does the publisher matter.... Im not looking for a Haynes or chiltons....no offense, just want one from Mr. Toyoda...

IDK the publisher for the FSM's - My Landcruiser one is markedly thinner than my old LX450 one was (forget why, EWD may have been bound in the FSM, don't recall)

-But the LX450 one is a good 3.5" thick, the Landcruiser one is ~2" thick.

Maybe a paper LX450 FSM owner will chime in, I want to say the supplemental books (EWD, transmission book) - were all in the book.

Or else it takes 300 pages to explain the cel phone & cd changer ;)

Welcome to MUD :flipoff2:

nice rig, I have had a cruiser my entire college time and it was in far more beater condition. you will do fine with this one and the miata I think.
Its an addiction, soon you will have bumpers, dents, armor and roofracks! :)

I ordered this two volume set, $100 shipped.

Yesterday I replaced all three rad hoses with silicone ones, firewall heater hoses, pesky heater hose, rad cap, thermostat, flushed the system 8 times without the thermostat in, and did a ~60/40 OEM red flush. PHH wasn't bad, but having a friend with small arms, proper tools, and empty system with cold motor definitely made it easier than a roadside repair. Bought a spare to keep with me too just in case. Last week I threw on NGK plugs and wires, bled the brakes, changed some of the easy to reach vacuum lines. Window also popped out of the guide, which was much easier to replace than expected, so much so that I took out the whole system and cleaned and lubed it. Driver's window is now speedy fast unless it is below 10.

Did a compression and leakdown test; Compression was around 170 across the board with the exception cylinder 4 @ 150 dry/161 wet. Still within spec but not something I'm happy about. 5, 27, 15, 10, 30, 25% for the leakdown

Brakes need bled again, but they're better than they were with pond scum that's been in the lines since '96. Still haven't looked into why my center diff doesn't lock in low or the faulty parking brake. Still have a dizzy cap and rotor, VC and spark plug well gaskets in a box waiting to go on. Really happy to be getting this thing baselined.

And I really underestimated all the "they're expensive" posts I read here before I bought this. I'm excited for the snow to go away so I can bring the miata out again and enjoy cheap parts and gas for a while. This will probably be parked for the first few warm months so I can tackle some big jobs like birfields so it'll be ready for a cross country trip.
