Had both my Keys crack off the plastic shell. Ordered two off eBay for $7.00 delivered. They arrived the other day and looked as good if not better than the original. I did need to enlarge the little LED hole on the plastic shell as it was a bit to small to allow the FOB electronic to fit. Took them to the local ACE hardware and for another $6.00 I got keys cut.

ebay shells I bought a few months back were Denso so OEM. Popped in my electronics from broken key and had them cut at the hardware store. No brainer and holding up just fine.

I picked up a couple of these and haven't had the keys cut yet. They seem just as sturdy as the OE ones which is to say not very. I had to ream out the LED hole a little bit to get the shell to close properly over the remote itself but they seem fine for the price.

Ask a local locksmith to cut it for you. It costs just about $5 for each key.

I received mine and actually was quite impressed with the quality. I too had to widen the hole for the LED to get it to close properly. Thanks to the OP, it's so nice to have a key that is like new. I had them cut at my local locksmith for $4 total (2 keys). Lowe's wouldn't do it for liability reasons (what a joke).

Go to ACE hardware. They also had a sign saying they won't cut any outside keys. If they give you a hard time tell them to charge you for a key as if you had bought one from they. They have more flexibility in what they key in the registrar than a big box store.

^ That's not the issue. It's not that they will miss out on a key blank sale. It's the fact that the key blank you just brought in might have cost $100 from the dealer and they don't want to chance making a mistake with the cut and having to replace your blank.

I saw this thread and thought I would give it a try as my shell is being held together with superglue right now. Everyone I have talked to has said it is a laser cut key and wants to charge me $100 bucks. Does anyone know a place in the Atlanta area that will cut it for less?

I tried Lowe's and the local locksmith. I am going to swing by Ace on the way home tonight. Lowe's said they didn't have the tooling due to it being a laser cut key and the locksmith is the one that said it was $100.

Did you try the dealer? They won't cut it for free if you didn't buy from them, but I'd be surprised if it's more than $20.
