First off, I’d like to thank everyone who takes time out of their day to post insanely detailed threads and replies on this forum. You all have truly made this an awesome community.
As for the new truck. I picked up a white non-sport 04’ with 120k on the odo. Had it inspected prior to purchasing and the mechanic couldn’t find a thing wrong with the vehicle. It was a two owner out of California, so the underside looks practically brand new.
I’m relatively young still and have only owned two Crown Victoria’s prior (I know). I moved back to an area where you need 4wd/AWD about 4 months a year, and the crown vic wasn’t going to cut it. I’d researched dozens of hours on this forum and landed on either a first Gen sequoia or GX. I’m absolutely in love with the GX. The thing has plenty of power to overtake on the freeway and make the normal commute to school a fun one.
I had the windows tinted a bit darker as they were almost see-through. I bought a relatively inexpensive FM Transmitter to fix the lack of Bluetooth/Aux in the vehicles sound system, and so far it was the best $20 I ever spent.
I plan on doing a full lift sometime either Fall 19’ or Spring 20’ as the PO had the airbags replaced about 15k ago, so no need to change there. Tires still have about 80% of tread left on the Michelin Latitudes (which have done splendidly in 8” of snow a few times).
It’s going to be mostly a commuter/trailhead hauler with some bigger trips to Central and Southern Utah planned for the spring.
Once again, thanks to all of you for the time spent making this forum a great resource, and I look forward to seeing you guys out on the trails.
