Hi I've been hanging around here for awhile now and finally joined the club - I can't tell you how much I have learned the last 3 months from this forum. I wish I had this knowledge before I bought my 40 but I think I did fine. I admire and appreciate everybody's expertise and willingness to help others. I'm sure I will be needing that help. I bought my 40 in september this year and I would say most of the work was done or close - a lot of loose ends but things I can finish. I have already completed a few.

1971 FJ40
350 Conversion
SM465
SOA
Edelbrock Carb - hate it
Shackle Reversal
35s
Sag.
Rancho9000

Here's a picture when I first got it - there's been changes since then, I'll post updated pictures later.

What do you mean it'll never be done??? You're joking, right? You're not serious, are you? Just kidding, that's the fun part, isn't it?

Very nice. I would like to see more pics.

which edelbrock carb r u running? y do u hate it? im contemplating whether i get a webber or an Ebrock...

thanks

Here are more pics of my 40 as promised - bought tube steps off craigslist cheap - off toyota truck tacoma I think - and fabbed to fit and painted. Not sure which edelbrock carb I have cruiserfreek, but here are some pics, haven't given up on it yet. Had mechanic hook up electric choke and was supposed to adjust, but I think it's not right. I read on mud about a cheap fix for when its off camber so I will look into that. I live in the mountains and it will act up in not so extreme situations. Also bought a quadrajet for $20.00, might have to check that out. Heard they are great all around.

Also pics of my spare carrier Alkarich, thanks for the kind words everybody.

(Still want to know how to post an avatar?)

For avatar info...go to the Help Corner section and do a search for avatars. Then you'll need to go to User CP to get the job done. First I think you gotta have ten posts before you can create the avatar. Good luck and nice rig!

Very nice!! What do you know about the color. I think it is a near match to nebula green. I thought they only painted nebula in 1973. Do you know anything else about the color?

color is bright teal ppg dupont - b9224 handwritten on can-pics dont do it justice. wasnt what I was looking for. had another rig in mind-a little less money, more work thats ok. money wise it made more sense to go this route. a lot of bling a little to much but O well. I think the times set the price. people tell me now I cant take it wheelin, well just watch me!:steer:
