Great forum! Not new to SA by any means but new to landcruisers. I got a 98 model in a trade and it needed a motor so I purchased an '03 sequoia motor to swap. The 5th digit of the sequoia vin was T so I hope I can get by with this. I already know that I'll need to swap the oil pan, the aluminum block extension piece (correct part name?), the exhaust manifolds and a few other little parts. The new motor is very clean and only had 95k on it. I don't have any idea how many miles are on the LC because it was half taken apart when I got it. I'd love to meet some other LC guys here in town and may need to look at another one just to get this one back together! I have a JD squared tubing bender a mig welder and access to a CNC plasma cutter and I can't wait to get this thing going and build a roof rack and bumpers for it.

Some of the finest people I've eve meet are from SA, welcome to mud.

Will be great to see your build step by step.

Have fun with your new toy.

Welcome to MUD and Land Cruisers.

There's a great group of Land Cruiser and Toyota 4x4 enthusiasts in San Antonio. If you haven't found us on FB, look up Alamo City Land Cruisers. We're also in the Club House forum here. We normally meet the first Saturday of the month for breakfast and kick tires for awhile. We need to plan an event of some sort soon, too. Would be great to meet you. Come out and see us.

I will have to check yal out also. I am a member of the TLCA and would like to meet some local cruiser heads.

I'm in San Antonio as well. Up on the north east side. I sold my 80 a couple weeks ago and I'm just waiting on shipping to get my 100 here. What part of town are you in?

Jon

I'm actually in Selma so I'm on the north east side as well.

I got this truck from an old friend who claimed he couldn't remember the mileage. However... When I got on y'all's Facebook page last night I see that he posted it for sale saying that it had 468k on it! No wonder the motor was shot! I really hope I'm not wasted my my time putting a used motor in this thing just to find out that every other part is worn beyond usable limits.
