There are two off-road parks near I-65 south of nashville. Wooley's and Wheelin' in the Coutry in Summertown TN. Great places to pay and play.

Been to RattleRock yet?

Nope, not to Rattle Rock yet. Where is it located?

The ticking you hear is probably the injectors. Take a long screwdriver and put the handle end up to your ear. Poke around the engine with the blade end and try to pinpoint the ticking. Mine is loudest at the injectors. I adjusted the lifters (which were all within spec after 165,000 miles) and it didn't change the clicking. The noise doesn't seem to hurt anything and mine has always been the same.
Good luck.

Hello and Welcome! I'm a fellow '92 owner in Clarksville, Tennessee. I love mine too. It's now my 3rd and I'm getting more attatched to it daily. If any of you Tennessee guys are ever over in the western (ugly) side of the state check out Land Between the Lakes. It's got some decent spots for offroading, nothing comparable to what east Tennessee has to offer but it'll do.

MJADDICTION: I think I've seen your 80! My corporate office is in Brentwood and we have a couple of offices in Franklin. People at the office hate riding with me because I point out every Land Cruiser I see.......

My wife hates it when I point out every 80 I see. It's to the point now that my wife has talked my two little girls into mocking me. "ooh, Daddy look, another Land Cruiser..." :D . There are quite a few around Brentwood and Franklin. I still look through windows to look at mileage, and for the Golden round knob. I often wonder how many owners here know what it's for.

What color is your 80? I see a white, and a maroon early 80 around town.

MJAddiction...what golden round knob? I must be missing something...

MJADDICTION, its the champagne/goldish color. I'm usually around the Maryland Way area of B'wood at the main Realty Title office but venture into Franklin pretty often too. I saw a pretty sweet 60 the other day at REI. Looked to be lifted a little.

Was it a tan 60 with a roof rack? I saw that one over in Maryland Farms area a few months ago. That's a nice one.

I'll keep an eye out for your now. Mine has the really obnoxious Yakima rack on it right now.

The "Golden Knob" I refer to is the dial for the front and rear lockers. :D
