Hey

Im currently looking at replacing the front seats in my 60 series , For 2 main reasons , Im sick of being thrown all over he place when offroad , and i want more solid back support , plus i seen one a while ago with the camping fridge mounted in the front besides he bassenger seat and it looked sweet , nothing like a cold dring onhand while cruising , Any ways what has anyone done , or what ideas has any one got ,
Im in australia too so any purely american trucks are out of the question , and yes it se's quite a bit of road use

I haven't done this with my 60 yet but want to - but I've been reading up on it.

From what I've read, you can plan on doing some fabrication to get your new seats bolted in - regardless of what you get. A little metal bending and hole drilling shouldn't be too big of a deal.

As for seats, what I'll look into are touring sedan seats (Volvo, BMW, maybe even the big Toyotas or Lexis) The only other truck I'd look at would be an 80 series, but that should go without saying. They'd be big money items though, unless you score some one the cheap somewhere (but how cool would it be to have heated, leather seats in a 60?)

Another alternative is to look into off road racing style seats. There are a lot of places to buy that sort of thing here in the US (http://www.man-a-fre.com/parts_accessories/seats.htm) - that can be pretty spendie too.

Another thing to consider is to take your truck in to your local upholstery shop and see what they can do. They should be able to customize your foam, build in your cup holder, lumbar support, covering material etc, and you may come out cheaper in the end, and with exactly what you want.

oh, forgot to mention - someone here on the boards (and I don't remember who it was) - recomended the Volvo seats but had tried something else - maybe it was seats from a sports car or something, but had mentioned that because of their size they looked weird, and that's when he got the Volvo seats. So, I guess, be mindful of the size of the seat you go with and how it will look in a big 60.

I put a set of corbeau baha ss seats in my 40. Work great lots of support. Made all my own mounts for the seat and 5pt harnesses.
