so i picked up a 1987 LC with a 5.7L SBC with a carb on it
this will be a long project because i want to finish my LX450 first . it just seemed like a really good deal so i jumped.
details:
1987 LC, Silver , 110k miles
rebuilt SBC 800 miles on it
Bottom end was rebuilt. Has all new bearings and rings, new oil pump, valve guides, all new caskets, timing chain.
Edelbrock 600cfm carb, edelbrock performer intake, comp 4x4 cam. Advanced adapters v8 conversion kit. Stock Toyota 4spd trans, and Toyota transfer case. New general 31x10.5x15 at2 tires. New front calipers, rotors and pads. New luk clutch, throw out bearing and slave cylinder, shorty headers, HEI distributor, new exhaust.

the cons:
rear frame is rusted , not a total loss but i need to deal with it
oil leaking out of one of the valve covers - easy fix
some rust on the body , not as bad as i have seen on other ones though
suspension is original
the birfs look dry (first time i have seen that _
the heat control slider is frozen - i am hoping i can do a quick search on here to figure that one out.
rpm gauge not working
in dash oil meter not working
in dash temp meter not working
dash cracked
the foam inside the seat covers seems mushy?
steering is loose

Congrats... the v8 must move the truck around pretty nicely! Get that hole in the roof fixed ASAP... you don't want it raining in there!

I'd love to drive it sometime to get a feel for the v8....

I have to get a couple of things done before I tag it. , my friend is going to replace the back frame area where the bumper mounts and patch the hole in the roof.
If your around Brooklyn , please come by and check her out, I need some perspective from other mudders

Nice looking rig, bro! :) I always liked the silver on a 60, it always looks clean and shiny! Unlike the grey, which always looks dirty lol.
