New Door panels!!

So I was bored today so I decided to make some new door panels. The originals were all warped and crappy anyways.

It is just 1/4" inch ply wood. Just traced the originals and cut them out. I am pleased with how they turned out

It was about $40 bucks for ply wood for all four doors.

Nice. You'll have to let us know if you ever burn your left arm from resting it on the window seal on a hot day.

Didja do any thinking about how to make the bottom pocket on the panel? That's where I keep a maglite, wipeoff marker for notes on the window, and the all important air pressure gauge.

yeah the little pocket will go on tomorrow. it is Just a few screws that I didn't get put on today.

That looks awesome. I would like to do that too, but I think I am going to (Maybe) leave the wood natural and put on a clear poly. Did you do all the panels, i.e. 4 doors and rear sides and tailgate?

Yeah I thought about leaving them that natural wood grain but opted not to. I am going to be finishing all the other panels tomorrow. I will post the pictires all up when I get done.

door panels

looks great , just need to tuck and roll for a 50's kind of feel. Honestly a lot of rods had wood door panels made to replace the crappy fiberboard from the factory. Lots of shops will even make them for you if they get the job on the interior. doc
