Not my cup of tea but I would love to have it just to stand out in traffic

70 series section material here Jonathan.

Old news.

Drool away....

Here's another beautiful 78 series at the Yoshiwara Plant waiting for export.

I love it !

But, if I did the currency conversion correctly, its MSRP in dollars is more than $62,000

Wonder how much of that cost is going to the SA government?

I was told the other day that the UN buys an average of 5 Land Cruisers a day. Probably lots of them are 70 series too. Cool stuff!

Here's where they buy them from:

Toyota Gibraltar Stockholdings Ltd. TGS

Check out their stock holdings...pretty impressive:

60% of all of the 7X Series LC's manufactured by Toyota Auto Body go to Gibraltar (they manufacture about 55-60 a day, 5 days a week, 260 or so days a year).

The 70 series pick ups go for over 80g's here in Canada. Theyre not road legal for some stupid emissions reasons though.

D

That thing is awesome, but $62,000 is WAAAY too much for a utility truck. I want one anyway though!! I doubt my marriage would survive a purchase like this ;)

Well, it isn't exactly "new", the 78 has been around for over 10 years, maybe new in South Africa though.

It's pretty cool, lots of cargo space, the only downside (if you can call it that) is that it is too tall and if you want to use it as a daily driver it's a PITA because it doesn't fit in most parking garages.

Now that could be the start of a great conspiracy theory...;)

We don't get the 70 series here in the USA because of a nefarious UN plot...

I'm always down for a good protest...but, burn a Land Cruiser?
That's just wrong:p
