new carb and distributor help? (1 Viewer)

i have a 1974 fj40 with an f motor , it has a header with 2 1/2 exaust, stock 2f carb and distributor, any ideas what would be a good upgrade?

What is wrong with your current components?

when i'm driving it sputters when accelerating,idle's fine but under normel driving load sputters bad, the last owner informed me that not all the bugs were all worked out ( carb & distributor) he sed i might need to rebuilt or replace one or both.

Is that Garden Grove, Ca that you're located? If so, Mark A. (Mark's Off Road) is in Burbank and will rebuild your carb for $250 or so....not sure about the dizzy, but he'd do you right there, too. Give him a CALL (in the afternoons).....
