got around to powder coating the wheels black-- 10% semi gloss

$75/wheel was the best price i could do in SoCal... Waag PowderCoat , Van Nuys....they did a great job. makes the truck look so different.

i like 'em with the caps off, but i still may spray paint them to match the wheels.

if anyone needs a spare wheel- i got one, i'm gonna be putting a for sale ad shortly....

I hit mine with black paint, and painted the hubs black as well. Tape off the logo for ultimate awesomeness

i like the black center caps with toyota still silver.
tape, etch and rattle can :)

next project will be to black out all the emblems...

where does one find the time for this obsession!!!

Krylon satin black for the hubs or caps if you decide to reinstall.

thanks for the suggestion loud.
do i still need to sand it or put etch on it prior to spraying it?
or can i just bypass all that and spray

(yes i'm being lazy):princess:

On my white truck I just painted them after a nice cleaning. They're still black. The old 16s I had that were matte I stripped bare and painted. Either way works. They're hubcaps, if it begins to flake/peel just pull them off and hit them again.

Looks good LCbruiser.

Got any pics of it in the sun - little hard to see the contrast in the shade?

yeah i'm selling the wheel, i only needed it so i could powdercoat two wheels at a time :) pm'ed you jon

here are some better pics.
this was when i had only the first two up front on, and they were replacing the back ones -- i think i may just leave the caps off. looks a little more aggressive.

my friend said my truck looked like a crazy military vehicle the other day. i told him he was just jealous :p

Looks good.

Looks mint! Love that river rock mica too, nice combo:)

Krylon Appliance Epoxy comes in a gloss black and holds up better to UV and the elements than any other paint I've tried. I have stuff I've painted a couple of years ago that looks like the day I painted it.

wonder how the black epoxy would look on the gray trim/panels....to match the black wheels. overkill? the trim looks worn and sun damaged, i'd like to DIY it... or maybe i'll just do match it to the bumper one color.

so many things to do!

I've been using the standard krylon "satin black" for several years now to touchup my powdercoat. If I clean the dirt off first(not always a priority) then it blends very well and lasts. The appliance epoxy gloss is too shiny for 10% gloss p-coat match.

I don't wash my trucks so the gloss is very subdued.:flipoff2:

looks nice... what brand of tires are you using?
