Hello, Want to introduce myself and join in the discussions
My name is Tom Taylor I live on Martha's Vineyard and now own a 1982 BJ42 3B diesel Landcruiser. This is 3rd one the other 2 were
a new 1974 FJ and a 78 FJ. We used these as Beach Buggies for riding on the outer Beaches and Surf Fishing for Stripers in the 70s and 80s. They didn't live very long in this salt environment.
I have lots of questions pertaining to the Bj, parts availability
and it would help to talk to other Bj42 owners and know who you are. Rocky Mountain Cruisers played a big part in getting my rig
to its present state. We have a new frame, new suspension,
some Aluminum body parts and a mostly all original exterior and interior. Once I figure out how to post pics I will. Right now I have one problem thats over my head, I have lost the shut off fuel
function on the engine. I don't know whether this an electrical or motor problem and whether the key functions by energising it to
open allowing fuel into the injector pump, HELP!!!. I was readjusting the Aluminum Fenders and Skirts and had some of the wiring disconnected and may have caused this problem, can anyone direct me to what to look for? I won't post my phone numbers or email address just yet untill I know its Okay to do so.
Thanks for your help in advance.
Tom

good investment

Tom, if your gonna keep that 42 ,a factory manual is a good investment. bj42's have electrically controlled shut off, called EDIC . So ,yes, check your wiring ! 4 Wheel Auto in Canada is your best source for parts and help. I think they advertise here also in TLCA magazine ! GOOD LUCK ! Cruiser user, 82 BJ 42

Search here in the forum for plenty of info under EDIC .. if not .. give us a call .. I'm working on mine on last sat.

Welcome .!

OT- Check out the Yankee Toys section in the clubhouse corner. We're having our Fall Gathering cruiser rally in Southern NH the last weekend of September. You should drive the BJ up there and do some cruising and camping for the weekend. We love new members.

Welcome.

The edic is behind the injection pump. It pushes a rod back and forth. Search for it on here. But probably the connector is loose for it.

My suggestion is to not use this cruiser on the beaches. Well at least get it fully oiled first, and flush it with fresh water often.

Edic Problem fixed

Edic problem is fixed it looks like the plug connection was a little loose and slight corrosion but not bad. Thanks for all the help
