2001, Interstate battery died. Funny I was lurking on here researching batteries, must have been a premonition. For those out there our stock battery size is hard to find- 27F. No one carries it. Sears had one for $120. I looked at Optima's, everyone I spoke with said they had lots of returns. So I went with a DieHard Truck battery, 34-78 for $99 with 3 year warranty. The exide at NTB they wanted to sell me was a 24F(wrong battery) was 10 cheaper but half the warranty. Anyhow the terminal wires are too short for the 34-78 as the battery terminals are farther forward on the battery. I bought 2 guage battery wires 12" and extended them. Voila! Now I have 875CCA, 36 month warranty, perfect fit as it comes with plastic spacer.
Thought Id pass it on as the 27F is tough to find and has fewer CCA than the 34-78(despite being a bit larger)
