Hi everybody,

Nice to be back, had an 80 series that I sold ~15 yrs ago and a v8 runner, regret selling both of em now. Recently picked up a 2010 GX w/ ~125k miles. Love the car so far.

My question is I've just noticed the rear heat doesn't appear to heat at all (I have the 3 zone climate option) and the floor heat in the front is reasonably warm but not hot (maybe would have never noticed if not for the rear and reading service history). The higher level heat in front seems hot/normal and I am comfortable even in very cold weather. Looking at my vehicles history on lexus, I noticed a heater complaint at 120k w/ a "coolant valley leak" diagnosis, and I don't know if the repair was ever completed, but suspect not. The car was sold w/a carmax warranty 3months/4k miles so I am going to try to get them to fix.

Do my symptoms sound consistent w/ the coolant valley leak? Anything else I should consider?

Thanks

Attached pic w/ new OEM TRD wheels w/ 255/70/17 BFGs, sorry a bit dark, they ride great and no rubbing whatsoever +great in the snow.

Welcome back! Now you have the best of both your old Toyota's, the room of the 80 series and the V8 of the 4R along with some nice newer options like your 3 climate zones (which need looking after), better stereo, and seat coolers.

Something is definitely up with the heater. If you have warranty coverage have them address it. There is significant diagnostic coverage in the FSMs posted on this site too.
