Hi, proud owner of a new 200 (got last week). just like to ask if the new Tundra wheels PT758-34090 fits on our 200. they are quite cheap and new, but listed only for 09-10 Tundras.

i drive mostly city so 20" is OK. do you think they look good on our 200?

Alloy Wheel20 PT758-34090

Thanks in advance

Nice to see a new owner out there!

Tundra and LC have the same wheel measurements. Most, if not all, wheels should be interchangable between the two vehicles.

As far as looks, it's a personal thing. But since you've asked...

I think 20" is ugly on the LC, and serves no purpose. If you want to go bigger, why didn't you buy an Escalade and throw 22s or 24" spinners on, you know, the shiny chromed out blingers. Add a nice slick with low profile, possibly interchangable colored spinners, and you'd be the hip hop king! You could mack with some honeys and roll in style.

As a disclaimer, the above is a personal thought in response to your question.

Welcome to mud:flipoff2:.

the 200 is already a very capable city vehicle, but 20" wheels would probably improve handling somewhat. as far as looks go, i have to agree that low profile tires on a landcruiser look very odd.

you should base your choice on how you will use your vehicle. if you go with 20" wheels, you would be well advised not to attempt anything beyond very mild off road, or you will be getting pinch flats.

enjoy your 200. very well engineered vehicle, no matter how you use it.

I agree with the above comments. What you should have done is bought the Lexus lx570 if you wanted a bling land cruiser. they come stock with 20's and it looks really good. I bought my 200 for weekend offroad camping trips and christmas tree hunting excursions. The only reason I did not buy the LX 570 because it seemed more as a daily driver, the same way I look at Esclades. I can't stand when someone put 20" plus rims on hummers with low profiles. It makes the truck look neutered. I feel sorry for it as I feel sorry for Land cruisers with 20"s. But bigger tires on and lift it.

18 to 20/20 to 18

I hope you enjoy your new truck. I did buy the LX with the 20s but do intend to take it off-road during the hunting season. I think those will fit nicely, however I am not certain! I am going the other way, we have rutted up sandy roads in MS that can devour a 20. I need rubber not finished aluminum in the ruts to the place. We don't own the easement into the place so we have to get through whatever our neighbor has left us. I saw a new crusier with 20 inch Sequioia wheels that looked great and obviously bolted up just fine. I found it on ebay, check it out it may still be there. It was a white 09. I wish I liked the LC 18 wheels, then I would be trying to swap with you.

Hans,

Congrats on your 200 series LC, you will not be disappointed. I have to agree with some of the other guys, a 200 with 20" rims may add a little "mall crawler" look to your hot rod.

20's on an LC?? I think my 18's are large! I want 17's!

Don't even get me started on mall cruisers! YUCK!!!

EDIT: Also, if you drive "mostly city" why buy a LANDcruiser??? No offense, but all the LANDcruisers on the road are why Toyota gets the impression that in the US, people don't wheel these things. Why would you buy a vehicle that gets 12mpg just to drive around in the city? And if you are going to say for it's tow capacity, well it's not the greatest with that either due to it's wheelbase. Get a sequioa and save a ton. Put 20's on a sequioa and I don't care. But on a 200? Make's me puke!

As others have pointed out, 20" wheels are not good offroad. While they may bring some handling benefits, they will worsen the ride (higher unsprung weight combined with a shorter, stiffer sidewall). The 20" tires and wheels will also be significantly more susceptible to damage (bent rims, etc.). In addition, the 20" replacement tires will be more expensive.

That said, if that's what you really want, I suggest that you find an LX570 owner who wants to swap with you.

Thank you all....appreciate all the suggestions. I'm leaning towards a more sporty rims (17" or 18") any recommendations? :)

"sporty"? I think you may be missing the point that we are all trying to make...

Wheels get damaged when an LC is used properly. I'm keeping my factory wheels until I significantly damage them, and then some steelies are going on.

If you bought this thing as a mall cruiser, then do what ever you please. :steer:

$ deal on 18s

The best $ for what you get is the take off wheel advertised widely on ebay from the Tundra. It is a 5 spoke 5/150 60 mm offset wheel that is a factory wheel, around $400 shipped for 4. It is sold on certain trucks then the dealers swap the 18s for a factory 20 optional wheel and tire. The 18s are sold as take-offs without sensors. You can pick up steel tundra wheels that are take-offs at most Toyota dealerships for around $200 for 4 with caps, no sensors. I take mine off road but then bring it home and baby it. I am a middle of the road user. I go for 07 18 inch LX470 wheels, still looking for a nice set.

C'mon guys... for the intended use, the 20's will give a better driving experience.
I disagree. They will give a minor improvement in handling at the expense of significantly degraded ride quality. And they will be much, much more susceptible to bending the rims on a pothole.

If he's into the whole bling thing, that's cool. It's not for me. But if he's going to do it he should understand beforehand the costs associated with it (worse ride, more expensive tires, more bent rims).
