Well unfortunately @BarnFab asked to borrow my thermostat housing to make a copy from it but stopped replying to me once he got it. So now I’m out a housing and don’t have my original to take measures from.

Sucks when trying to help out winds up costing you an irreplaceable part.

s*** you are 100% correct, I completely forgot about that project after a bought a couple of new ones out of Japan and then went away for a while. I will ship it back to you today and post tracking sorry about that

I appreciate that. Had a couple of bad outcomes relying on people from ih8mud about the same time last year and it’s good to see this was just an oversight, not something intentional.

Been a while but thought I would offer an update, after being a slack ass and forgetting to return the housing I borrowed I have decided to make these as I need one.

They will be 6061-T6, have screw in barbs. Depending on interest they will run $550 shipped in the lower 48 and $600 - $650 shipped anywhere else in the world.

If I hit qty 10 I will offer them for sale. Supply time would be about 4 weeks as I need to order a few tools to get in a few places.

We had the problem of the thermostat outlet housing hose barb tubes being severely corroded, but the casting still OK. With slight heating, the hose tubes easily pull out of the housing, thus allowing the housing to be threaded to accept standard brass hose barbs available anywhere. See photo

What size are the brass hose barbs?

You could consider using genuine Toyota screw-in unions:

P/N 90404-52028 is used on the 14B and 15B water pumps and is the correct size for the turbo water hoses. It's a 5/8 BSPT (taper) thread.
