Several months ago a young lady ran a red light and insurance totaled our 2 owner California car with over 300k miles....she served us well....RIP

After searching endlessly across US, driving several cars in 3 states...I ended up with this CA car...2006 lx 470 with 270k

I drove a 100 series in portland a couple of weeks ago with over 450k that seemed to have more get up and go then my new green hulk...so I just ordered denso coils and plugs from Rock auto...I hope it helps.... Let the baselining begin..

Well Sir, you have just taken possession of the best colored LX470 on the planet. Thats a fine copy right there.

Looks great. I bought mine with 260k on the clock and I’m approaching 400k now. Get it base lined and enjoy it

Took it to a friend certified mechanic right before I bought it...just got back from my regular mechanic...and both said car looks good...minor leaks in steering rack and on valve cover. Nothing major they could find...will be taking car on its first road trip from Sacramento to Texas wish me luck

get that rack replaced, asap. and the valve cover.. but that’s just me.. i can’t abide a leaker. I’m sure you’ll reach Texas, no worries.

What part of Texas?

Depending upon previous maintenance records, and how clean your engine bay is, you may not need to replace the valve cover gasket that is leaking.
Quite often, providing there is no dirt and grit all over the engine, you can simply re-torque the valve cover bolts (78 in.pounds) and the leak will disappear. You need to keep the valve cover bolts properly torqued so that the spark plug tubes don’t fill up with oil.

The steering rack issue that you mentioned is going to require further assessment. If it’s leaking past the inner tie rod end, either rebuild it or get a new one. Either way, you may want to install a proper stacked plate fluid cooler on the power steering fluid circuit. A cooler will dramatically increase the durability of your steering rack by dropping the temperature of the fluid.

I fabbed up some brackets and plumbed it in… works great!!!

Test fitting before final connections.
