Needo a Speedo

Sigh... I need another speedo... again. I seem to spin these things out. I would prefer one with the screw in type cable attachment. Is anyone interested in selling one to me?

My most recent toasted one would just rotate back and forth between 0 and max,.... back and forth while driving. I installed another one I had laying around and it is lifeless.

Admittedly I have to take it back out and see what is going on, but I"m also hoping to get ahold of yet a third one to have as a back up or to install if my current one is toast... yes this is hard to follow... I know.

ya know, those things can gum up...you can take em apart and clean the old lube(now glueb) and re lube em and another thing to check for is the drive gear at the Tcase end. they can get chewed up and the cables can rust too. might take your old one apart and see what you can do with it first...

Thanks all. I finally made it home, pulled it apart and was able to just pull the cable right out of the housing.... so.... there is a new cable on my want list now.

Thanks Lambcrusher for the advice. I just was not feeling micro-fidgety and wanted to put a known worker in there first. I know the drive gear is fine as I just installed a nice new transfer case.

Scrappy, much obliged! I put a screw gun on the back of the speedo and discovered that both my units work fine, just need a cable.

so, no need now. Glad to be back home though. Tired of trying to communicate between Spanish, Portuguese and English. I just wanted to talk turkey about land cruisers anyway.
