They are great clamps. Hold them open with vise grips until you have them where you want them but be careful unlocking the grips. I smoked a thumbnail on one once. That kinda sucked, lost the nail.

Yes, and when those are released, heed the above warning and make sure no body part is inside the clamp. They have a ferocious grip.

^^ Yeah I forgot about the cap. The grips are for used clamps. I popped off the cap on one and it snapped me right at the base of the thumbnail. Kinda like hitting it with a hammer

Those type hose clamps are very good but they can bite as Dogfishlake stated. ed
