Need some leads on a 40!!

Hey guys,
So I found 2 Fj40s last night on craigslist, and convinced my father to buy one of them for me as a graduation present!!! I was all set to go and look at the better one of the two tomorrow (a 1978 Fj40 SOAed) but someone came in today and put a deposit on it and so then I called the other guy... and HE decided not to sale!!

both were at $2k OBO... I'm looking for something that needs some work... doesn't have to run... just basically a good frame, salvagable body, and an engine that can be fixed!!

Help me out guys! I want another cruiser

You guys can use your best judgment on cruisers... The body and frame are priorities I guess, since all mechanicals need replacing anywho... If anyone has any info text me at 205-717- SIX FOUR EIGHT 2

Saw these a couple of weeks ago, doubt they're for sale but could be leads. Heading south on AL 69 out of Jasper is a blue FJ40 under a carport or in a garage. It'll be on the north or west side of the road. Looked to be about a $2k Cruiser.

North out of Jasper but south of Double Springs and closer to Double Springs. There will be a small restaurant on the left, just past the restaurant, on a small hill and in a small barn is a mustard FJ40. Gotta look close for this one.

These may still be around, haven't been up this road in several years. North out of Double Springs, through the Bankhead to Moulton, on hwy 33. After you come off the mountain, off to the right someone has 1 or 2 FJ40s.

Back in the day the dealership in Jasper must have sold more than a few FJ40s.

Thanks Godwin!!!! I literally got no sleep last night I was do pissed about the whole thing but now I can see I'm gonna have myself a cruiser treasure hunt

After reading this post I'm definitely pumped up again!!! I can't wait, but wish me luck guys!! Any other leads are appreciated!!! The more I get the more likely I will hit a winner right??

That was my back up one, here is the one I was going after1978 Toyota Fj40

I mean the year I want and everything..... but so much for that, a guy came in and swooped it out from under me.....

The one in cullman is sold as of today.... and the one in munford, the guy was selling it for his grandmother, and he is ending up just buying it from her

I'm tracking this one down right now, leaving during my lunch to go drive down that way... I think it is parked by a place called "The Curiosity Shop" in West Jasper... I remember seeing it when I was heading to T-town one day a while back!!!

You don't happen to know the name of the restaurant or any other details as to the location of this area.... Between Double Springs and Jasper is a good 45 min drive lol.... The name of the restaurant would help me out a little more (although you have already been an immense help) I plan on heading out that way Saturday and tracking it down... I dig that mustard yellow color a lot

If nothing else it's interesting to see what a couple hours drive might dig up. I'll give you some advice that I ignored and that I expect you to as well- be patient.....
