The rubber roof channel molding on my 200 is missing on both sides. Anyone out there that has removed theirs to fit an aftermarket roof rack?--let me know if you are willing to part with it.

Thanks!

If you're in KCMO, I'd go to Molle for parts. Are you a member of Tornado Alley Cruisers?

If not, you or CC1999 could order online from Olathe Toyota for the same prices as Camelback and have your stuff a lot faster.

ive been having the same problem with this molding. has anyone had any luck using rtv to secure the molding in place? any reason not to try this?

same here. 2011 LX570, the driver side windshielf moulding plastic strip pop up on the roof end, wont clip down, pops up again and again. ALSO, according to the diagram , see below, there appears to be several short pieces running along the gutter but mine doesn't have those short pieces???

I used RTV to secure the tops of the windshield molding and it worked great. there are plastic clips that hold the molding on.
apply RTV to the plastic clip and tape/weight it down to keep it in place.

My 2013 LX is missing all but one of the roof channel mouldings. I replaced 2 pieces a few years ago then just gave up. I can’t imagine it does all that much.

I believe the primary purpose for the rubber inserts is to keep leaves and trash from collecting in there then decomposing, which can lead to corrosion.

The tops of the windshield molding clip into a metal tab with hooks on either side. This part is glued to the roof channel.

Either of these connections could have failed. I used the toyota procedure of new clips and a flexible epoxy to bond them to the roof.. will see whether I got any pics wh

Is there a generic moulding that can be used instead of the OEM that keeps coming off?
OE is the best, just have to make sure it isn’t bent (it has a metal rib molded into the center) and installed into a squeaky clean channel. Decomposing leaves and stuff turn into a slippery mess when wet and I think that plus them being bent out of straight is why these are coming out.

I’ve never lost one, and had my truck well over 110mph.. just to see if it could.

Great thanks , I shall get oem!

I lost a couple in touchless automatic car washes. Used some automotive door moulding glue spray to get them to stay put. Been great for years now.
