Need pics of stripped rear bumper

I posted these up a while. Not sure if this is what you were looking at, but here ya go. Let me know if you need any of the mounting parts. The body shop ordered new ones and charged them to the insurance before I told them not to actually repair the bumper. I've got most of the DS mounting hardware still in Toyota bags. PM me for part numbers.

That last pic really has me thinking. Would there be any ill effects of cutting off a bit of the rear frame rails to bring the bumper further forward? One thing I don't like about my truck is the departure angle. If one were to cut a few inches off, the bumper would not stick out as far. I think I'd like that.

That's exactly what Luke does with the 4x4Labs bumper ;)

Mike--
First: Is that a stock bumper?
Second: I don't see how that improves departure angle. What am I missing?

Any pics of such a beast. I haven't taken the thing apart yet, but my preliminary thoughts were a straight bumper. No wings. Perhaps cutting the botom of the rear quarters so you can't see where the wings should be. Not sure if that would make the back of the truck look goofy or not though.

its hard to tell in the pics but the departure angle is much better the stock. as for stock bumper if u look in the pics above that cross member is the center on my bumper. in other words this is the best departure angle you can get in the rear with out cutting that cross member off.

I agree that is the best possible departure angle without the crossmember gone, but the crossmember is what is in the way, hurting the departure angle. In order to improve it much, you need it gone or pushed in. That is a nice solution to the plastic covers though.

Luke has some pix on his site.

By cutting the frame rails or having a 4x4 labs bumper installed, does it eliminate the option of installing a auxillary fuel tank? I really like the 4x4 labs bumper but would also like the option of adding a aux. fuel tank.
