both mods i am quite capable of getting done my only issue is whether or not it is morally sound to do them as I have heard and seen MWB cruiser are hard to come by. iv owned myn for a while now was my first cruiser since i have rebuilt an fj40 to immaculate standards as my bj is or was my work truck.

any who the two mods i am looking at are

Extended wheel base just a simple spring hanger and shackle swap and relocate to the back lengthened diff blah blah blah...

and the second was a 4inch roof chop.

here are three pictures (i do apolagise to whoevers bj46 i have butchered on paint but my camera has convienantly decide to spit the dummy when i want to use it.) chopped and lengthend wheel base, just lengthened wheel base, and stock

ant opinions are welcom flame, cheer whatever im stuck in the middle the pictures arent the best chops but thats pretty much exactly what they would look like.

thanks again Ben

X2 I would drive it as is and have fun with it.

lengthening the wheel base is doable, search the site! Chopping the top- WHY?

kewl sounds like its a "dont bloody touch the thing" all these mods are due to boredom as I live on an island off NZ and been modding and restoring hot rods since i was bowt 12 but only recently in the last few years did i realise how amazing any 4x4 was (cept jeeps useless things they are). this is pretty much just my DD that i wana make a bit different . Ive seen the tlc 43 and all of them look like hot s*** on toast with the extended wheel base minus the 20 inch rims on the black one. only reason for a roof chop would be its cheap its easy and its a bit outhere also may fit in the garage that way or parking lot since i like rolling witha minimum of 34" tyres. but i can deal with it being outside. the wheel base extension im liking more and more as itl only take a shackle reversal and relocate them back about 10" which the extra frame length accomadates for perfectly. ive had this car for a long time and enjoyed it for just as long and a resto just aint guna cut it somethings gotta happen to it. resale is also not a problem as i vowed when i bought it to never sell. I know it sounds crazy, but i have 6 months paid holiday every year and love to fill my time with grindiing metal and welding. Any way thats just to explain where i am coming from i figured its better than turning it into a 4 door crawler which was the original plan.

Ryt but thanks for the fast replies so far as il make the decision on the new year. cheers i realise i cant post pics as i have a status of ":flipoff2:" on this forum. so il put em up as soon as i hit ten and am approved.

Right I think il skip on both the ideas thanks for your opinions il spend the money on a low profile roll cage and a set of 35's. which means once the tops on its a factory look but when the tops off guards off doors off and windscreen down itl look somewhat like a crawler.

Yo, keep it real fo sho!
