I found a 1976 RHD FJ45 Australian edition. Am I crazy to even consider purchasing it ..... I do not want to get stuck with it. Are these trucks considered less valuable because of the position of the wheel......do people like them or rather not deal with them at all? The truck is clean and rust free.....wish it had the correct wheel....
I will try and post a picture.
I really welcome your opinions.
Armando
I heard some one out there does the incredible....switching the wheels:steer:

The RHD vehicles of any sort seem to be offered at lower prices than the LHD versions. However, there are always buyers for the RHD versions--not everyone gets stuck on the idea that a RHD will be hard to drive. I have bounced back and fourth between LHD and RHD and find it very easy. The only thing I notice with the RHD is that they can be a pain at drive throughs. Buying a RHD can be to your advantage in that you might be able to buy a nicer vehicle for less money than its LHD counterpart. If you really decide to swap the truck from RHD to LHD this company advertises the swap:
Land Cruiser Restorations, Sales & Parts.
Hope this is some help.

Let's put it this way....

My HJ-45 is LHD, and I thought that was pretty awesome when I bought it. Now I wish I would have bought an RHD, just because I love stuff that is different. :)

My Dad, on the other hand, wouldn't consider a RHD cruiser.

FWIW--my next cruiser will be RHD. It's just too cool not to have!

You buying it for some kind of investment? If not, then don't worry about resale value. It's a landcruiser, an fj45 even, right hand drive is no big deal.
If you are buying it for an investment, perhaps I can interest you in some ocean front property in Alberta as well?

And for what its worth, I have a rhd fj45 (South African model),. It takes all of 15 minutes to get used to driving.

You can always pay to have the steering swapped over. costs $3-5K

I love my rhd 45. Are you going to keep this one?

Buy the truck, then move yourself and it to Australia, It will feel right at home, and you wont feel like the odd one out.

Maybe if hltopper is correct and chicks over there do dig a fake oz accent, then I should buy it, and move over there my my real oz accent :hhmm:

If the post office can do it, you can too. Don't let the postal service have all the fun

(note: I own 2 RHD cruisers)

Like Jsaltlick told me before selling me my FJ45 "It will take you a couple hours to get comfortable driving it then its no big deal"

I would have preferred to have a LHD but I'm not about to spend the money to convert it. I have way too many other things I would rather spend the money on.

Plus you can have all sorts of fun with other drivers on the road when you have a dog riding shotgun or your passenger sleeping in your truck.
