My fan somehow exploded and luckily there is no dmage to anything. There isn't a scratch or ding on anything in the engine compartment so I think my fan had a hairline fracture and it let go finally.

I am thinking about getting a flex-a-lite replacement mechanical fan. Only problem, there isn't enough of my fan left to determine the diameter I need in a replacement fan and if it runs clockwise or counter clockwise.

So what diamter do I need?

Counter or clockwise rotation?

if you were cooling a V8, Iwould say replace it with the largest one that will fit, then build a shroud. Stock rotation is clockwise. Best and easiest upgrade for an early style steel fan is the later plastic one from a d2F. I have a couple if you need one.
