I've been searching all morning and haven't found what I'm looking for - maybe someone can help me out on my '94. My CDL is locking up like it should (w/ switch and in low) but I'm getting nothing at the front and rear actuators. I thought I remembered something about a switch at the center diff that allows the signal to be sent ... but can't find anything about it. Any help - need these suckers working for the roundup!

Update - so I was going through and jumpering the switch connections and got the rear to go solid ... guess I'll have to dig into the actuator  Then I go to the front and guess what - the fawking harness from the PS fender to the actuator is missing  That might explain why it wont engage - ^*(^&% PO

Anyone know where I can get this little piece of harness? I've got 10 days...

If you are refering to the one that runs from the LH inner fender apron, by the antenna plug, along the sway bar and then to the actuator, You can buy that one new. I am more curioius though why it's gone.....

That's the one - I'll give you a call in the morning to order a new one. You're not nearly as curious as I am, I promise. What sucks is I won't know anything until I get this in ...

Ok - so I'm still not getting power at the actuator plug on the rear, the switch seems to be working but nothing at the plug. I didn't get to trace the harness all the way back last night - but everything is plugged in to the point the harness enters the rear QP. I know there's a 30amp fuse at the kick panel ... but this seems to be just for the switch. Need to study my FSM I suppose - has anyone run into this problem? Is there a fuse or connection I'm missing here?

BTW - which pins on the plug do I hook up to a 9V to test the actuator?

Thx,

Tucker

pin's 2 & 3,

On the rear actuator 2 is green & blue, 3 is green,
On the front actuator pin 2 is blue and green, pin 3 is blue.

If you get no movement revere polarity.

IIRC the colors on the short harness from the locker plug to the locker itself are slightly different from the harness colors, the above colors are for the vehicle side harness.

Be careful hooking voltage directly to the motor, the motor is suppose to be controlled by relays that watch limit switches, when you directly power the motor you can overdrive it and stretch the wait spring, it should stall before that happens with a 9v battery, with 12v it will stretch the spring.

Also after you shuttle the motor over with the battery you will then need to rotate one tire and the wait springs will lock it. The lights in the dash will still blink even after the motor shuttles to the locked position; they will not go solid until the locker actually locks (harness must be hooked back up)

the 30a "Diff" fuse also powers the locker actuators themselves

this kind of work needs the EWD not just the FSM

Thanks Raven - I'll give them a try tonight when I get home. You wouldn't have a EWD you could scan - I've just got the FSM. At least I'll know if I need to go into the actuators now -

sure, here

that is from a 96LX, may be same/similar as 94LC

Front harness leaving for you today...................
