I recently purchased a 2016 tundra limited. I own a 2013 200

I would like any and all info on swapping the wheels from the tundra to the cruiser and vice versa.

First, any safety issues?

Will they both fit on either vehicle?

Will the PSI sensors from one vehicle work on the other? If not how do I make them or how much will it cost?

Most importantly, How will it affect the ride?

Open to suggestion or opinions on the matter.

Lastly, The cruiser will be my wifes (2 small girls) for at least 6 to 8 years. So, yes it will be a mall cruiser for the next several years.

Thanks

Please only serious responses.

If it is a one time trade of wheels have the dealer or a competent shop reprogram the TPMS in the trucks. Maybe a hundred for both trucks.

Discount tire swapped my sensors over from my OE wheels to my current wheels at no charge. I bought tires from them though. Call and see if there is a charge. Those shops are pretty awesome on service.
I run tundra wheels on my LC with no issues. I have zero experience with the other direction.

Discount Tires charged me only around $7 per tire to swap sensors to different wheels.

It should work both ways as long as you are not running trd big brake kit. I am currently using lc200 rims and tires on tundra. I decided to ignore tpms light. But a tire shop can program them for either rig.

Atwalz thanks you alway helpful. Thanks also to th other posters.

What about the ride of 20" with 275/55 on the 200. Will it ride rough or tight.

With the same type of tire, with the same outer diameter, the larger diameter wheel will ride stiffer than a smaller diameter wheel. This is because of the smaller sidewall, with flexes during travel proving another aspect to your suspension.

Unless you are going to put on a big brake kit, there is no point to 20" wheels. The ride will be worse. The wheels will cost more. The tires will cost more. And the wheels will be more susceptible to damage.

I think there are several images of people who have put these 20"s on 200's. Here's one.....

I have seen them in person, and I personally think they look great.

My cruiser came with 1798 wheels that I traded for platinum wheels that are now sitting in the shed . No problems

Reviving as it’s kind of on topic. I have space to store a set of wheels. These 2007 tundra ‘mag’ are available not far from me. Will they fit my lx without spacers. The well worn tires are 285 65 18 and should Be ok based on what I’ve read.

Yes. No spacers required.

I have a 2013 LX and use Tundra 18” wheels and sensors on my winter tire set up with no problems and nothing extra (spacers). The only thing I ran into is all my local tire shops can’t reset the Toyota TPMS, the Lexus dealer charges me $25 if I bring it in with the wheels on.

Another odd thing. 2 of the times I have switched back I pressed the tire pressure button under the dash and it synched back to the other wheels the other times I have had to get the dealer to do it. Anyone else have this experience?
