Im inbetween classes right now and wanted to pass something by my fellow pigheads.

1977 FJ55 2F non-California carb/smog

I removed the airpump and all the other smog equipment minus the EGR system which I plugged off at the carb. It wasnt being used anyway but I made sure it was now plugged. The airrail for the air injection has been pluged. I now only have two vacuum lines being used. One goes from the carb to the vac-advance on the distributor and the other goes from the carb to the charcoal cannister for the evap system. Now I am having issues with flooding. Wasnt having them prior to this. It does it all the time after I have drivin the pig around and get back in to restart it. I thought maybe somehow the float was getting stuck? What the heck is going on? Did I forget to do something?

mine did the same excact thing, and i just delt with it for a few years. finally i got a rebuild kit and rebuilt it, making sure to plug off the smog stuff that is internal in the carb. basically i made it the same as a non USA carb. its still not as good as it could be after having a weber 38 on during the sugury, but that weber isnt as good off road so it didnt stay. i dont know if what i did made a difference more than the rebuild but i'm either going diesel or TBI real soon so i dont care anymore.
