I am looking at an FJ43 in Miami. I would really appreciate it if someone local with a little knowledge and time could give it the once over. If you have a little time shoot me a pm or call my mobile. 913-568-8553.

Thanks,
Charles

cheers!

My local Miami mechanic is good and does this sort of stuff. Also works on my LC. He charges though. Let me know if you want his info.

Thanks for the offers of help. The deal fell through today. I'm still looking, so you never know where the next one will pop up.

Is it the teal green that was on ebay? The tub looked to be grimy in the photos. I am on my third FJ43 down here in Colombia. 2 sold with a third coming to FL. There is one for sale via Mecum in Dallas, TX. Very nice and nice seller. Will probably not be cheap. Here is my red 82 FJ43 hard top I am finishing up. The avatar photo red 81 I sold. Also finishing a very cool 1974 Heath Grey metal hard top under deposit to a client in FL. Most people here on the forum have their own opinions but i am down here 5 weeks this trip and am finding the 1980 and up FJ43s harder to find. I looked at about 5 of them and liked 2 of them (including my hard top). I lost the other good one to a Colombian collector/buyer. The other 3 had rust and grime in the tubs and were just generally beat up. Having driven this great 1974 FJ43 with the F engine and no power steering and 3 speed

etc I was surprised at how FUN it drove. I would suggest considering all model years should help your search.

FYI I should have these two in Tampa area in less than a month if you just want to test drive them get a good look at some FJ43s to learn about them you are more than welcome to visit. Same goes for anyone here. Again I was really surprised at how fun the 74 drives. Feels lighter. Part of it I think is the general good condition it was in. Good luck.

Chas,

Thanks for the offer and the leads. Initially it was the green one on ebay which sold before I could get to it. My friend I was helping eventually ended up buying a yellow hard top from the same seller. The seller had imported them both from Columbia. It has been picked up and is in SC for a few tweaks and then on to Dallas. I'm hoping someday to see it in person. Here's a couple pics.

Wow those are pretty ;)
