Fellas. I'll be driving home with my new to me '98 LX next weekend.
Here it is.

I'll be taking off the front guard and rear light guards.

As far as the wheels go I like the 16." I'm just not too thrilled about the bling. If they were not chrome I'd be fine with them. So I've been contemplating switching the wheels. I have not found any 16" wheels that would fit the LX and that I like.

So the 18" wheels have piqued my interest.

Here's what I've found so far.

I like the price. I wouldn't rattle can them. Leave as is. I saw pics from another forum member on here that had these on and it made his cruiser look like a rover. So not a front runner.

Here's what I'm leaning towards.

I like the spoke pattern. I think they look great on some cruisers, but I'm not too sure the wheels will look good with the bronze paint of the truck. I also wouldn't rattle can them.

Being 18" would also bring up the price of the tires.

And now for tire size. The truck will be a light trail vehicle. I know I'm going with some BFGs A/Ts.

If I keep the 16" wheels what's the best size tire?

If I step it up to 18" wheels what's the best size tire?

One of my concerns is too big of a tire and how low the AHC drops.

What do you say fellas?

Opinions and pics welcome.

Thanks

After cruising through the 100s photo thread and finding 1loudLX's pic from 2009 I may consider the 18" steelies and rattle canning them. It looks bad ass!!!

Fellas. If I go with the steelies will I have to use diff lug nuts???

Also, these wheels are available. I like them, but the asking price is $375.

That's not a bad price for those wheels.

Very good price on the LC alloy 18s. Go with 275/70r18 or 285/65r18. If u go with the tundra 18 alloy wheels the front center caps will need a hole cut in the center for clearance around the the grease cap on the hub.

285/75r16 on your stock wheels. All these sizes fit stock trucks but tires are taller and heavier and will change gas mileage and speedo readings.

Yes you will need to match the lug nuts for the steelies.

37s and some skilled fender and firewall modifications is the only way to go.
