I'm trying to change the body mount behind my driver wheel that's shot. I need to loosen up all the body mounts on the car. Anyone how to access the second from the rear body mount (#6 below)? All the other ones are accessible but I'm stuck on this one.

I’m in process of replacing all body mounts -

For #6 in diagram I simply took a jigsaw to bottom half of the cushion, which is pure rubber. This gives you clearance to insert your socket in and put it on bolt head. Bolt is 12mm.

There’s only that single bolt for this particular cushion. Screws in from the bottom.

Now if anyone has replaced #5, the rearmost one. I’m all ears on how you created sufficient clearance between chassis and frame to remove the old cushion. Im jacking up from rocker panel, but can’t create the separation I need. Tried jacking from rocker panel, and then with my bottle Jack on the opposite side lift from frame to push the other side of frame lower. Didn’t work ha. Any tips or suggestions?

Any further details on how you got the final mounts (#5). I thinking of replacing all body mounts and researching. Not finding a whole lot on this process while searching.

Thanks,

EDIT: I see on the 80 pages this fellow did all of them. Looks like he lifted each side, one at a time, a couple of inches, and this provided access to the equivalent of #5? Does that make sense?

sure thing - should’ve updated this post when I got it sorted.

Reason I wasn’t able to get sufficient separation between chassis and frame to remove rear most body mount - is because I didn’t realize there are two additional bolts, accessed from within the truck, which were keeping chassis and frame locked together.

To access bolt heads you must peel back carpet - bolts are under or just behind second row seats. I believe you have to pop some small plastic covers out to see them.

Once I removed these two bolts I was able to easily create the space required to remove and replace rear most body mounts.

Hope that’s helpful. Hard to describe without pics I’ll see if I can snap a couple to give a proper visual. But if you look under the truck you will see them.

Also to remove #6, for the second mount I was able to remove with a simple swivel socket and small extension. 1/4” ratchet necessary because space was tight.

You can do that or just hack bottom off with a jigsaw to create more space ha!!

Thanks fellas!!

I have a two post lift, so betting this will make it easy to lift the body one side at a time.

Will probably order all new mounts and fasteners. Even from PartSouq, looks like it's the better part of $700. Oh well, if this fixes my crazy noises, I will be super happy !!

Did it work?
