Should be no worries, with possible exception of wiring. Hinges are different but I seem to remember you already have the later hinges? They just lift the frame so the wiper motor doesn't hit the cowl. I'm pretty sure the knob locations are identical, unless yours is really early. Hardtops were different because of upper wiper motor locations, but that was just a notch. Won't affect your softtop. You probably need the wiper switch to go with it, but I don't know if the wiring itself is different
Could someone remind me what is the purpose of windshield wipers? I've used mine a couple of times this year to spray washer fluid and clean the dust off the windshield. Did the early 40's come with spray nozzles?

George thinks the wiring is the same, but he may also have an early ws frame. he's supposed to check and let me know.
