I don't know about Pro-Comp ride quality, but if their springs are still made by NHK they are about the highest quality on the planet. Bilstein's are a no-brainer.

Dang...No one is running procomp springs and Bilstein shocks? Need to do something with my old worn out setup pretty soon.....

I have the pro-comp 4 inch springs and bilstiens. No complaints. Stock style shackles. In comparison, I have 4 inch rough country and bilstiens on my 1970. It is a little more of a harder ride but not alot of difference. HFS shackles on that one.

What size tires are you running with the 4" springs?

33 x 12.50 x15 on both.
ProComp with stock shackles are good.
Rough Country w HFS are pretty much vertical.
Raining to hard for pics for now.

Thanks for the feedback. Looks like I'll be ordering the 2.5" lift in the near future

Old man emu have a significant following and have been tested for decades -
Here in Canada, they were quite a bit more expensive so I got the procomp set up - bought mine from 4wheel parts and upgraded the shocks from procomp to bilsteins.
The shocks were a bit of a back and fourth as the original ones they suggested didn't have enough travel - anyway, got it sorted. Had to increase rear shackle height to level the truck - apparently not uncommon. Since this was purchased as a ground up build, I have little to compare it to, but after 8 months running 33/12.5s on it I have no complaints. I also ended up cutting the rear fenders though... see the link to my build for a pic of the shackle set up..

Are you running the 2.5" pro Comp springs and 5100 bisteins?

Yes, 2.5 pro-comp. I'll have to check re the final bilsteins, believe they were 5100s...
Yes, there was a lot of rake to the back (exaggerated since the pic was taken on a hill), but apparently this is not all that abnormal - the front springs will sag more rapidly under the engine weight so they start out with more arc effectively lifting the front end higher than the rear - or so I was told.
No matter the reason, larger shackles helped the look and ride and after 9 months or so I haven't had to go back to the old ones.
This discussion also points to the advantage of the EMU set up if you have the cash - it will give you a tried and tested ride. The pro-comp with the noted adjustments has been just fine for us though - Cheers
