Hey guys, I need a new (used) air cleaner assembly for my 67. The one that's on it is a chincy looking aftermarket open element and looks way undersized. From what I have seen the OEM assemblies that utilize the single stud and wing nut are somewhat hard to come by. I came across this one on eBay, looks to be in ok shape albeit somewhat rusty.

fj40 toyota land cruiser Air Cleaner Assembly 1969 | eBay

Does this seem like a fair price? I am not finding many examples to compare to. Any other suggestions on where to look other than eBay?

Thanks guys

You can find better & prob cheaper also. Go to our 'Classified' section. Also check with Marks Off Road, he's a MUD vendor.

Seems a bit steep to me. Put an wanted ad in the classifieds, or reach @orangefj45, Marks Off road or other 'mud vendors.

^^slow typing.

I think I have one of these that I would sell a whole lot cheaper. I am heading to my secret land cruiser stash today will grab a pic or 2.

Thank you sir!

I was thinking it was expensive too, but like I said don't have much to go by. I did just find another for $50 but it's got two small holes in the cover . Still looks very workable though.

So then I guess you would not be interested in one of the air cleaners in my ebay store???

FYI your 67 would come with a F135 that had a single barrel carburator. Every 67 I've seen still stock had a oil bath air cleaner in the US market. That changed to a paper element in 68 until 3/69 when the 3/69-9/69 two barrel carburator with the stud was used. That changed back to a clamp 10/69 until the 2F started with the 75 model.

What the h**l is that? And do you have to drill a hole in the hood to use it, then using the tip of that...thing... like a gun sight?

To the OP, unless you’re doing a period-correct resto, the paper element type cleaner is preferable IMO. I run one on my ‘64.

I have nothing to offer. All my one bbl air cleaners are now being ‘bundled’ with carbs for package deal sales.

OK, so I've not studied my carb closely but from memory it is indeed a single barrel. I will have to double check but one thing is certain and it is that the current air cleaner is held on by a single stud and wing nut. Are the air cleaners that mount to two barrel carbs and utilize a single stud different from the one barrel carbs that mount with a single stud?

I'm not necessarily looking to do a period correct resto to the point of using an oil bath filter but if possible i would like to use an oem housing with a dry element. What do you offer for package deals? I had no idea there was so many parts available from this website? What a treasure!

Well, now I'm second guessing myself on this. I've got the day off tomorrow and will get some pictures. Appreciate all the advice and offers. You've all been very helpful.
