Ok so money is slowly coming in for my SOA project but in the mean time I need a front axle rebuild. I'm probably about 10,000 miles over needing one. I want to try and avoid rebuilding the axle and then a month down the road taking everything apart again.

Should I just put off the SOA and get the axle rebuilt? I have the money for gears, a rebuild kit and new bearings. But at the same time I have been saving for the hysteer and ruff stuffs SOA kit. Should I just retire my cruiser for the summer and start tearing into her? I want everything done by August.

Matt in my opinion you should just hold off on the axle build a little longer, because as you know you are going to have to tear it all apart for the cut and turn............ and I personally hate axle rebuilds, so I would no want to repeat the process :grinpimp:

Glad to hear MOMO is going to get the treatment she deserves, good luck on the project

Which hysteer kit would you recommend? You have the 4x4labs right? Any issues?

yeah 4X4 is the setup I have........ the only problem I have, and I knew it was going to be an issue going in, is that you will have the trim the front 1" or 2" off of your oil pan. Othewise the tie rod will smack it

besides that it is a great kit, a little pricey but it is probaly the best engineered kit out there, although If I did my SOA again I don't know if I would have gotten it again since most other hysteer setu-ups are about half the price. If we did more rock crawling around here I would highly recommend it since it relocates the tie rod behind the axle out of the way......... but with our terrain around here it just isn't a neccessity.

hope all the jibber jabber I just wrote makes some sense

thanks, I'll probably still go with the 4x4 kit. I like the thought of "if your going to build it, over build it".

Hope things are going well for you out on the trails, see you around home soon bro.
