Hi I haven't posted in a long time because my 2000 LC has been such a great vehicle but I have kept up with regular maintenance and have had brakes checked etc. The other day I went through the automatic car wash and was driving home (going up a bridge incline 50mph or so), had the radio playing and simultaneously a loud alarm started beeping and the truck pulled hard to the right as if the brakes engaged. It happened very quickly but could have caused an accident had I not been paying attention. I had my foot on the accelerator at the time because I was going up the bridge. Worried that there was an electrical problem I turned off the radio and the alarm stopped and everything was back to normal. My alternator was replaced about 10k miles ago. Any ideas on what would cause this? Thanks for any help!

I would start with the wheel speed sensors. I have had many times where VSC would engage on the highway. It turned out to be a dirty sensor. It happened in the wet more than dry. I would check the electrical lines and connectors. The installer may of crimped or chaffed a wire when installing the alternator.

Really appreciate the replies. The sunroof quit working so I have not been able to open it to clear the drains, so when it rains I am getting some water dripping onto the passenger seat and floor. I wondered if that could be the cause? I'll take it to the shop and see what they say about it then report back. Thanks

Regarding the sunroof, been through it all.

Could be the sunroof drains or the gasket on the sunroof that attaches to the sunroof glass and forms the seal against the roof opening. Both can be an issue. If your sunroof is stuck closed, remove the a pillar trim and spray the roof with a hose. You should see water draining down the tubes running down the a pilar. You'll also be able to visually inspect the tubes for blockage although not the whole tube.

With some patience and lawn trimmer string you can attempt to gently clean the drains from the bottom up.

Also, check the adjustment of the sunroof to the opening.

If it's the gasket, that's a whole different set of challenges. Only a few have replaced it with success. I have suggestions there if you need them.
