my experience is that the whole hybrid system is one more thing to break, yes I have replaced a few hybrid batteries before.

Also the V6 should cost less than the Hybrid and give you more vehicles to choose from.

Resale on a hybrid with 125k miles compared to a V6 is significantly less.

New Toyota hybrid warranties have recently increased to 10 years or 150K for 2020 models, this is a recent enhancement

I have been watching this guy's videos. Alex on Autos. Super detailed and thorough. The guy knows his sh!t. I highly recommend. He's tested all the cars I've been looking at, and even got me interested in test driving a couple other cars that were not on my short list.

Life is too short to drive a boring car.

This is 100% accurate.

3 cars in the garage.
2005 LC
2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon
2015 Subaru Crosstrek

The LC takes the most maintenance and gas. But the maintenance is done by me on my own time and has yet to leave me stranded. The gas is a little annoying but not nearly as annoying as driving an uncomfortable soulless vehicle. We sold the Subaru 3 weeks ago and my wife rented a 2019 Highlander for a weekend as a potential replacement. We both liked it a lot, neither one of us loved it enough to justify buying it. When I first got my LC a couple years back, my wife was dead set against a LC or LX for her. But the more she drives it, she is starting to appreciate the comfort, convenience, and lack of drama (most reliable in the garage). She’s almost to the point of accepting the gas costs as we will be trying out a LX, GX, and RX next week.

So the moral of the long winded post is that you need to enjoy your ride. Every car has its pluses and minuses and it’s up to you to decide which minuses you can live with at this point in your life. For me, maintenance and fuel is a small price to pay for what the vehicle provides.
