Looking at re-ringing my 1986 hj 60. Does any one know of suppliers or there for a set of standard piston rings, and a head gasket. The block and such look great just the rings are crap so I am trying to avoid the purchase of the complete kit. Any one have any ideas?

4wheelauto may be able to help.

Jeff Walsh in OZ, try searching.

Or if your in need of quite a bit of work, you might consider a 12h-t replacement. I belieave G&Scruiser parts just got two hj61's in last week or two..

Good luck

Let me know the secret how to get Jef Walsh to answer an email,I have emailed them twice in the last 6 weeks no answer, may only answer overseas mail. LOL

I have never delt with him........

Are you too far away? Your West and he's east eh?

No I am in the north and he is in the south. I emailed asking if they could supply gearbox/ transfer case kits then later for a engine rebuild kit for a 2h. no replys at all. I bought a kit off 4wd parts for $450.00 airmail to here, 1 day delivery, excellent service.

keeping it tech, LOL :grinpimp: cheers gazza,

thanks for the hint

THanks I just emailed GW just after I posted, thanks for the heads up. I had a look at 4wauto they seem to just have the full meal ticket. If I can, I was hoping to get just the rings and the head gskt. Talked to the local lordco auto but apparently (according to the guy on the other end of the phone) they don't make the head gaskets or rings that come in those little kits at 4wauto. THey miracuously just appear in the kits when combined with pistons and the such! Oh well I will keep hunting in the new year .... cheers to you and thanks for the reply and suggestions. If you can keep an ear out .... Bob

also nice little jisaw puzzle you have ! I shoul dbe getting the rest of a parts deal that I bought ... if you are missng that last corner piece let me know I may have it bob

lol browndog, definately tech.

remember chambers to check with your yota dealer, surprisingly the parts are very close to others aftermartket prices. It can be close.

For head gasket you may want to go OEM anyhow, he L L it lasted that long the first time. They are better.
