so... im feeling comfortable with the 40... BUT... to keep going down this road
wheres the best place to live in NH?? id like to live somewhere not to far out in the sticks but not in the middle of a city... the places im looking at have rent in the 600 a month range for a 1 br 1 bath is that average over the whole state?? or am i just looking in the wrong places??

also what are the chances of me being able to find a job @ a park or maybe an outdoor gear shop? anyone have experience with this?
anyone need a handy man to live in their basement?? i can also be a maid... or janitor... (im a lifeguard now and swim instructor) i can do just about anything... if anyone needs an extra set of hands... im hirable (drug free not a child molester... or anything like that) yea throwing myself out there if anyone has suggestions/advice/anything

oh and most importantly what kind of top do yall suggest??? i have a "rough" hard top that i want to trade for a OEM top... would i regret this come snow ice and winter??

Rents where I live are $900-1000 a month for what you want. Not much in the way of jobs either.

Good for you. I've been trying to talk the wife into moving to NH for years, but she loves the ever-increasingly communist Vermont.

To be honest, I have high hopes for the movement, but not betting the farm on success. For every libertarian that moves to NH there are 5 tax loving Conn-Mass-o-crats doing the same.

You'd be with your own kind in Northern NH and the housing cost is the lowest in New England, but unfortunately there are few jobs.

Good luck!

yea im not better anything on it.... and i cant really look for a job till i graduate and get some real world work experience and i doubt very much that i can stand the cold
BUT if the idea worked i would LOVE to have something to do w/it id much rather see texas leave the union but i dont think that has even a snow balls chance in hell of happening

im probably getting way ahead of myself thinking about making residence in NH iv changed teh game plan to just trying to live there a year see what happens... the girl friend who right now likes the idea of being fiancée said she would move there with me but its a year in the future... see what happens between now and then
im interested in learning about NH if anyone wants to share im all ears (eyes??)

i would like to go ahead and thank everyone. yall will now be subsidizing my bluecross health insurance till im 26 :hillbilly: i dont have to grow up a few more years!

They will look for a cat, and make sure there are no leaks on the exhaust. They are more concerned with rust, especially if there are holes in the cab area, where exhaust can get inside. So if you have holes in the floor you may have issues. Brakes need to be good and working, they are supposed to pull one F&R wheel and check them. Some will check lift height, some won't care, it's a gamble. I almost flunked for a slight leak on one of my shocks last year.

As for the engine, if it's pre-OBD2 (prior to '96) they don't even lift the hood, as long as you don't have a Check Engine light on. No sniff test, nothing. None of that dyno testing **** like they have down in MA.

They did away with all dyno testing for pre MY96 cars in MA regardless of ODB2. Pass safety and pollute away.

So what's your major in? Outdoor stores like LL Bean, EMS, are pretty big here. Tons of ski areas that hire seasonally.

Move north and west of Manchester, NH and you will find we are pretty easy going on rigs. Mufflers seem to even be an option most of the year. I like mufflers however. I had my 40 inspected at my local Ford dealer. The mechanics thought it was a cool truck and seemed to like looking over it and taking it for a spin. It may have helped that the 40 is sporting new paint, tires, lamps, etc. Still have the period single circuit brakes though. A rusty looking truck will get far more negative attention that a good looking truck. Most things that rust up here are well on down the path of rusting apart and becoming dangerous. I know a guy, Wally, who does great, reasonable, Landcruiser body work.

definite pull over. once a cop passes the opposite direction, they are looking for license plate sticker and inspection sticker to match colors. with the NH plate and no or late inspection sticker, you are done.
