I am just finishing up a 2UZ install into my 40. The engine is out of a Tundra, so the oil pan was a front sump. I purchased a 2UZ 4Runner #1 and 2 oil pan with the rear sump, but unfortunately, the sump is toward the passenger side (on top of the front drive shaft).

So, I'm hoping a 100 series oil pan is a rear sump toward the driver's side. If anybody could snap a couple pictures for me, I'd greatly appreciate it! Directly under the oil pan, and the relation to the front drive shaft. I'm sure there might be belly pans or skid plates in the way, but maybe I'll get lucky and catch somebody with theirs off :)

Here's what I've spent 2 years on, and getting close to done!

Thanks in advance

That is gorgeous...

jetranger....just happen to have my hundy sitting in the garage sans skid plates. I'll give you the shot you are looking for on one condition....we need more pics of your 40...particularly from the top...looks like you cut the roof off. Would love to see what that looks like from over-head. VERY classy build...love it

I'll glad @dieselbigot can oblige your photo request. I'm signed up for more pics of the 40!

Dual flat screens in the garage, love it!

Thank you so much! I really appreciate it.

No, I did not cut the roof off. I just haven't attached it yet because it won't fit in my garage door with the fiberglass on. I'm in the process of finding a house with a taller garage though so hopefully it isn't an issue for long

Haha, thanks! My fiance thought one was enough also! One is for directv and the other I use for my pc.

I have not started a build thread yet, but I will.i have taken pictures of every step. I wanted the vehicle to be finished before I started the thread so I could answer any questions with accuracy regarding the build.

Here are a couple more teasers, I'm sure you 100 guys will appreciate them ;)

Here it was about 10 months ago...

The engine cover is painted the same color as the body

Hopefully one of these works for you...that 2UZ looks badass in that 40....and I think I like the top off better. I have the same height problems with my 62...even with 8' high doors I still have to air down the 37's to below 20 psi to squeeze in. Yep...time to buy a new house :D

I bought this place for the 14' high ceilings in the garage, but that damn 8' door is just about an inch too tight to let this thing pass without airing down.

That first pic is exactly what I needed. Yet another order for Beno now!

Thanks again

That garage is awesome! I've looked at a few houses with 10' ceilings, but still only 7' doors. It would fit in an 8' door with the rack, but not the roof top tent. I suppose I really just need a detached shop!

What air pressure do you have to go down to for it to drop an inch?

Wow. 2 incredible trucks in this thread! Jetranger- you fly tours in Vegas? If you know Jim O. at Mavericks, tell him David from HAI said hey. Old good friend. Dieselbigot- we just moved to your town. I might have to take a peek at your 60 someday. Pretty awesome!

That's all for my total lack of contribution to this thread, sorry.

I always just drop to 20 psi cause I know it will just fit at that tire pressure. I hear you on the detached shop...that will be happening in our next place for sure. I think every guy needs a shop with at least 10' doors.

Good luck with the oil pan...hope that works out. You've done a hell of a job with your rig...absolutely beautiful!

That is one bad ASS LC
AS far as "The 40 purists won't like this.... I don't care"

I think its awesome, and even cooler that you don't care!

BTW- Nice garage- im getting ready to do my first install next week.
I think I'll clean the garage this weekend.
You're garage just helped me stay married a little longer! who'd a thunk?

Thanks for sharin-Dieselbigot

Awesome build, do you have a thread going somewhere for this? I'm particularly interested in the wiring and drive train parts for the 2uZ swap.

Well I do believe the 40 guys will at least appreciate a Toyota motor in there instead of the generic 350. Good job, and beautiful Cruiser.
