brought my 2f head (81fj 60) in for a rebuild only learn the head was cracked! Now I need to find a new head. I wonder if anyone on this forum knows of a good source for a head in SW colorado? Or does anyone know where I could find a reasonably priced rebuilt head online? Cruiserparts.net seems kinda pricey at $650. I'd pay for shipping....I really need to get this thing back running in the next 4 weeks....gots to move!

Thanks for any help!

Thought I had seen an used one on eBay the other day, but couldn't find the item just now...

btw, ONLY use a Toyota Head Gasket (or OEM), or you'll be doing it again.

darn, I have my second head to be rebuilt, so I can swap my 2f head in one day. After THAT I will have a head to sell, but not for a few months

MAKE SURE YOU GET THE RIGHT HEAD NUMBER: 64010 for the 2F

I didn't verify the number with the wrecking yard in Denver, Just said a 1986 Landcruiser head. He sent me a 63010 for a 1F dome piston head - that is for sale for those who care

do the Toyota head gasket yes, get it thru Curiser Dan

thanks for the advice...ended up ordering from cruiser parts.net. Was the best deal I could find without supplying a core...if any of you think their prices are high please keep it to yourself! Ignorance is bliss.

I just don't have time to do a search or waste a day driving somewhere....moving in two weeks....too much else going on. Bad enough I'm gonna have to haul my trailer with my 87 4-runner!

Good luck and glad you found one!

There's a reason why we have the homily, time=money...

If anyone is still in need of a head, I have one from a '78 I'm parting out that had lower end issues. It is not rebuilt and includes the valve train and even the pushrods and head bolts if needed PM me if interested.

I have a spare 2F Head off of an '81 cruiser if anyone is in need. It will need a rebuild.

I too have a spare head. It was given to me when I bought my 87 fj60. The po said that it was replaced due to a burnt valve. It has the valves still in it, and the rocker arms. It even has the intake and exhaust manifolds connected. I would be happy to sell it. It will certianly be in need of a rebuild but if someone wants it let me know

Minor correction, 81-later 2F casting number is 61040.

F PN's start w/ 600xx, so an F head would be #60030 or similar.

i have 3 or 4 extra 2F heads in norcal if anybody else needs one......
