I'm up for a coffee / lunch get together. How about April 12th or 13th?
My weekends are getting scrambled - I can do this weekend (Apr 5th) else will be end of April for me - not a showstopper in any capacity. do it without me too if works for most/all.

Trying to stir the soup again.

2 Items. coffee this Saturday somewhere if weather good to bring cruisers too?

Second - talking to Brother-In-Law today about a trip to Tuttle Creek June 7 and if weather crappy, punt until June 14 - It is 2 hrs south of Lincoln. We were thinking down and back. Figure if they would travel there and back in the day for a Husker/K-State game, we can do it for Land Cruisers. Anybody want to join, all are welcome.

Hello All,

I just found this thread while looking for other cruiser enthusiasts. I live in Wayne and would like to get connected for community and trips.
I obtained, after much patience, a 95 HD J80 VX out of Central America. 5 speed, triple locked. Picked it up in AZ and drove it home. Surprised it made it. Had to do a bunch of reliability work under the hood. It’s better now, but needs to be tuned at bit. This interior is OK, lots of broken tabs, so loose parts. I put in a sleeping platform and 60” full extension drawers. So it has a stove and sink. I need to take it on a shakedown camping trip. Let me know what other threads I should subscribe to.

Welcome and nice to hear from you.

I would like to see more get togethers - and rotate around as we have enthusiast all around. one thing being bounced around too, for example, is a fall trip up the Loess Hills in IA and end up Sioux City/Decatur area for fall colors.

Erik and I were talking about meeting in Ashland next week to begin planning what trails and also have a meet/greet those going to CO and talk about the trip/what to expect. What route to get there.

We are talking meeting next Thursday (Ashland) to discuss trails for the week. If others show-up awesome.

I like the Loess Hills idea. I’m out of town for work next week, otherwise I’d be there Thursday too.

Here is the deal - there is a new brewery in Ashland - Erik and I think they do food as well. I say anybody that wants to come, come. We want to discuss some of the trails with maps etc - this year I am a trail lead - my plan is to take routes that get harder as the week goes on.

Also I have some thoughts about getting there - where maybe to muster if we don't go as a group. My plan is like last year when Erik and I met Ian from Tx and took trails to Ouray/Silverton on the way in - was fun. Anyway - Erik and I have talked some about that - and we want to convey have another meeting in July to discuss and or answer questions that people might have.

I will follow up with deets about what the brewery is we are going to meet at and when next week. later - most likely over the weekend.

Cheers

All, Erick needed to punt so we are not meeting tomorrow- in Ashland

However, my/our thought would be to all get together around Jul 6 or so to answer any questions you might have with logistics etc.

I have a few ideas about driving out. What I would like to do is ride some trails into the area Sunday.

My thought is meet around/in Gunnison, CO - convoy and or just meet there. (Or Poncha Springs??) Then Sunday, head to Lake City area and then take the lower portion of Alpine Loop in. Lake City is a little over an hour away from Gunnison.

I was talking to Ian and some of the Tx crew (3-4 rigs) might be doing that too Sunday- start meeting others and have a good time with beautiful scenery- and not too difficult either.

Where and when would people like to meet?

July 6th works well for me; as of now I should be able to make it just about any time that day.

Ashland is a good middle of the way spot - there is also a Brewery / Pizza place in Gretna that's a bit closer for the Omaha folks if we wanted to met there. Pretty open place, good space for bigger groups. It's called Heavy Brewing.

You rang?
Yes I did - And I think a found a route least traveled to Cinnamon Pass - I can send you the gpx file too - Carson Ghost Town trail to Wager Gulch - then Left on Cinnamon. The turn onto Carson is south of Cinnamon Pass (south of Lake City) -yet north of Stony Pass on Route 149 - Anyway will be doing some more investigations.

I am up for that - really anyplace.

I’m not seeing other suggestions, so the next question is what time?

I’m probably 12:30. Might be sooner but not solid on that yet

12:30 at Heavy Brewing (20333 Patton St, Gretna, NE 68028); works for me.
