Ground tents at the KOA Brian? I like this talk of food too. Food is important.

i'll let bryan elaborate on this. sounds like local food is easy to come by. sounds like breakfast is available (food truck/burrito's), i'm a little vague on the lunch part, and dinner's are on the attendees.

as far as evening meals go, we can either meal plan as a group and pool resources. or we can plan for each crew to provide a meal each night. putting these out there so that everyone can chime in with their ideas.

Most sites are tents. I will find a map and post. The layout.

Edit: adding the map...

I just updated with the map.

There are about 17 Camping Cabins (what Erik @Plains Cruiser and I stayed in) and 6 Deluxe cabins - Why I was stressing if you get a call, secure a cabin, any, and we can settle the dust with people going - with guests etc.

Most of the activities happen at the camping section to the left - say T-25 - that was about where check in and where trails&trail leads gather, morning coffee and food truck for breakfast burritos were located.

I think I like the idea of each crew cooking one dinner, and then breakfast & lunch is on their own.

Lunch was more or less what you packed to take with you for the day - We would gas up and fill cooler with some goodies - I had trail mix from Costco I would much on - We got fruit from the grocery store in Ridgway a bit later in the week for some reason.

Before I forget. Radio comms are with GMRS radios.

Erik and I both got these last year.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CPFDKKZB?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1

They were fine - noting bad, nothing great either.

But you need a license - I think it is $35 for a license that is good for 10 years. It bounces you to ten different websites - then you wait a few days and get an email saying you have 30 days to download/print the file. Anyway - I say you need it. If you get stopped and don't have it, not sure what they do.

I would say the first link bare minimum or something equivalent.

Here is a good summary on how to get a GMRS license: https://rockytalkie.com/blogs/rocky...1UFzNLDOtpA-9kvmLz897PX0EkVIMyt_ip0sM6An17E8e

When we get closer to driving in, I have some thoughts and will reference that map

I made a packing list - for me, for my rig and spare parts etc. At some point, I will post and share my thought on what I would do differently. @Plains Cruiser - Want to compare notes before?

Jason and the folks at ozark overland outfitters did absolutely incredible work on the old 80, I couldn’t be more pleased, and now we’re home! But I have a new concern, what if I actually get off the waiting list and then get to go on SAS? What if it hails 😂 this was not a concern with the old body work , lol, don’t know how you folks with nice cruisers have done it all these years

It is beautiful. Hail? What about small rocks flung up from the rig in front? Kidding. we drive so slow in the mountains. I like to say who needs to stop and smell the roses when you drive at sniffing speed.

We should meet - maybe even coffee in the am - or lunch somewhere

Just throwing this out there - As winter finally makes its way out, I'm thinking about getting together for coffee or lunch. Naturally I say this, yet this coming weekend looks like rain and me personally, I can't the first weekend in April.

Also - taking a temp of people wanting to go to Tuttle Creek maybe the early part of June - to give the our rigs a shakedown before August. Thoughts? It could be a long long day or stay the night.

I'm up for a coffee / lunch get together. How about April 12th or 13th?

i'd be down as well.
