NDT Tyre Size!

Stock is 600-16 Archie. :)

I wouldn't go bigger than the 700-16 that's a 30" tire. Look at the actual manufacturer's diameters, but the old inch tire size was about a 100% aspect ratio: 7" + 16" + 7" = 30" The 750-16 would be a nice road tire though. Not sure what the later non-US spec was for the 16" rim.

Jim,

I will be mounting them on stock toyota fj40 16x5.5 rims. which I suppose are wider by 1 inch then stock 25 rims. and thats the only reason I am not considering 16x6.00 or 16x6.50. But not realy sure if stock 25 steering box will handle anything bigger then recomended tire size.

Go with the 750-16 then. If you're not going to use it to wheel, then the taller tire will be nice on the road, but on the trail that 2-3" over stock diameter doesn't leave you much "crawl". I think John #1 has 31's on his white 25.

I didn't think the later model 16" rims work because of the offset? Let us know. Oh, the steering will be fine.
