NC Title colors, What triggers a red title?

Would checking the box on the application paperwork at tag office labeled “odometer exceeds mechanical limits” trigger a red title even if it had a normal title from a previous owner?

My understanding was that a red title shows it to be salvaged vehicle.

All my titles are red.thats just the color they use.

Apparently my others are too. Didn’t even realize. Just so used to green from other states.

Titles are red AFAIK. If it's salvage, it would say "salvage" or "rebuilt" on the top.
