Got into some deep water last night. Radio and nav is dead. Heater controls were displaying last night but not today. I know DVDs nav under seat is toast, but functionally what does it contribute to running the screen to display temp settings?

I don't need the nave, would like the radio back. Haven't started checking fuses yet, busy ripping the carpet out! Rhino line interior to come this summer.

Any ideas info where I should start beyond the fuses?

By the way, my wife is pissed lol! She called me a child.

Power windows work at each individual window , but not from driver control. Any ideas where to to start?

Also found blown radio fuse, have not replaced yet.

I troubleshoot a lot of European cars with water intrusion due to sunroof drains, or in Land Rover's case bad cowl plastics. The first step is dry it out, then check all the fuses, replace the blown ones, and see what fuses blow once replaced. Looks like quite the mess!

You got lucky....much higher and the kicks and center would have gotten it...yaw control, ABS, main ECU, etc.

Opened the door like a genius, it's been a while

So the radio and nav screen is still out. With car in off when I replace the 30a fuse it blows.

Does anybody have any ideas where to start or a wiring diagram?

Radio fuse? Without the wire diagrams I would start by unplugging the dvd player under the seat and seeing if it still blows the fuse, eliminate what you know is bad first. It may be as simple as that module being fried. It gets more complicated if other modules were low enough to get wet.

Disconnect the battery and let things fully dry out before more damage occurs.

DVD nav unit was first thing I took out, it's toast.

Dry as a bone inside, ran heat and a dehumidifier all night.

Mine has been in water. Even without opening the doors it comes in really fast; there are a bunch of grommets under the carpet that leak quickly. I've replaced a few electronics due to this.

Also I'd be curious to see what you do about the interior. I've had my interior out with the idea of doing LineX or similar, but there was too much stuff (wiring harnesses, ventilation, etc.) down there, so I put the carpet back in.

I have some wiring diagrams, send me your email address and I will send them over.

I've been windshield deep and never had intrusion. I maintained momentum though. If you stop it will always come in.

Well, I think "really fast" is relative. I got stuck on a crossing and it felt like it was really coming in fast, I'll tell you!

Since, I've had the hood under without water getting in, but I certainly try to get in and out as quickly as possible. It takes probably 20 seconds or more for my carpet to start getting wet, but if I'm in that long, I'm no longer on plan "A" and I'm well into panic mode. Maybe I have a bit of water crossing PTSD and that is altering my perception on the subject.

WhiteH2O thanks

Now that I think about it info think the water was coming in near the jams once I was stuck.

I plan on doing some urethaned plywood with L channel secure t in the back. I will probably just pick up some weather tech mats or do some type of wood floor in the shape of the floor mats with magnets or something?

Figured out the short, was the amplifier.

Wondering what kind of head unit options there are or alternate amp, looks spendy on eBay.

Anybody got an extra white driver side mirror?

Here are some more aftermath pics

I have the entire Factory Service manual for the GX, PM me an email address and I can send you some wiring articles. My bet is that the system there if memory serves, is set up where the radio is source only low signal to the Amp under the seat. The amp (I'm rusty here, but think I am right) has the crossovers for the three ways in the doors and the subwoofer, so if you go aftermarket you'll need to buy crossovers to use the factory speakers or switch to an aftermarket speaker set. As for the Navi, I believe there is a connection between the heater control display and the head unit (screen), meaning if the amp is toast and affecting the display it may be mucking up the databus in the car. That or they simply use the same fuse. Hard to say without digging into the schematics.

Hopefully the HVAC control BCM wasn't in one of the kick panels. I've not heard of anyone replacing the nav in that rig with aftermarket previously, but I am sure someone has done so. Quite the experience. Where were you that you found that kind of puddle? Sorry the inside got all fuggered up.
