Hey mud,

My 3FE with H42 and transfer case is about to get pulled in the coming weeks for a 5.3 swap

Engine—-340,000 miles and running strong
H42/split case from an ‘84 fj60

I also have a brand new rock auto clutch kit and rear main seal that I was saving in case I wanted to do a five speed swap

i’m not scared of these miles, because these engines run, and run, and run!

$1,500 and would prefer to sell it all as a complete package. I sold my 40, or it would be a great swap that I would’ve saved for my 40 series. Since I am doing the 5.3, any associated wiring that someone would need, you can also have that to complete the swap.

If someone is relatively local to this region, you’re welcome to come here it run before it gets taken out of the truck

So tempting. I have a FJ62 sitting here with no drivetrain in it. The plan is to build it with my 12 year old daughter for her to eventually drive.

I have been debating whether to take the easy route and throw in a freshened 3FE, or install a 5.3 which feels out of my realm of capability...at least easily.
 
I have interest in the 3FE separate from the H42/split case. Anyone need a great condition H42/split case? It is the early model, from an '84, which most consider not as desirable as the one with the 38mm idler shaft.

Anyone?

I’ve found a small shop that does 5.3 and other variants of LS swaps into older cars. The 5.3 package I bought off another local mud guy is very thought out and was prepped for his 60, but he changed his mind...
