Would like to try it out. I'm in a stock FZJ80 on 33's and will have a two year old in tow. Would like for someone that has either done it before be a halfass guide for me, or someone who hasn't done it before that doesn't mind the fact that I don't know where I'm going. =P

Name is Joe, call or text 430-200-606one

Joe, don't know when your planning. I also have a stock 80, on near stock tires. I think as long as it's still relatively dry it would be fine. I know the FS70 (west side)/FS19 (east side) roads and familiar with the locations the Naches trail crosses. I've never taken the trail but have always wanted to.

Decided to do Surprise Lake, didn't wanna get lost w/ the kiddo in the truck. Going around noonish today? Anyone is welcome, again phone is 430-200-six061

Dang! I got stuck on 24 hour duty from 9am this morning until 9am tomorrow morning. Dang the luck! Post pics!

Wife isn't the offroading type but enjoyed the trip, glad I decided on going short 'n sweet route to Surprise Lake. Had more trouble than I did last time making it up the tough part, pictures were taken coming down but you can see the leftovers from my wheel spin going up.

Took 3-4 attempts, with increasing levels of speed. Was about to call it off before I bounced on up on the last try.

Locker and sliders are definitely needed, only thing is I'm a cheap bastard. Any suggestions guys?

Sounds fun. That area can get pretty rough after a few rigs have been through and tossed the rocks around a bit. I put an auto locker in mine. I believe Kyle did the same. He did his more recent so he would have a more current price. The install is pretty straight forward if you know what you're doing. I don't, lol, but I know some guys that do. Maybe if you asked and had the parts on hand, we could make a day of it. Just a thought.

I put a Lockrite in my old 4runner, and I think that install is a bit more involved than these FZJ80's. Sliders is the main thing I'm not sure of. Would like to find some used or maybe universal type, and make 'em work...

I'll jump in with another recommendation for Kurt. I'm about halfway through my 3 week adventure living out of my troopie, and am happily sleeping over the very springs he arranged to be drop shipped to ARB in Renton, which saved me plenty of $$ for diesel.

Hijack continued!

Speaking of Kurt, I need to order my new shocks and steering stabilizer. I believe Kurt will be the man I go to as well. When I get the money, anyways. :-D
