Mystery Wire

Can anyone identify this piece? It's a wire and rubber cap that I found dangling loose on the passenger side of my 1985 FJ60, right next to the fuel filter. It doesn't seem too critical, but I really hate having it hanging there without any obvious purpose.

Looks like the oil sending unit wire.ya....I see now you have a aftermarket hooked up
